The ‘it girl’ of the plant world, everyone wants to get their hands on a Caladium!
Caladiums go dormant over winter and grow back again the following Spring (an even bigger and fuller plant!). Their leaves will start to die back when the temperature gets cooler around Autumn time. Store the tubers somewhere cool and dry over winter (this is important so they don’t rot) then begin watering them again in the Spring when it starts to get warmer.
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight will produce the biggest leaves but also really show off the plants bold, varying colours. Be Careful not to leave them in direct sun or their leaves will crisp.
Water: During growing season water regularly, wait until the soil is dry before watering again. Always keep soil slightly moist, drooping leaves is a sign that your Caladium needs watering. Do not water over Winter whilst your Caladium is dormant.
Food: Feed once a month once your bulb starts growing leaves
Humidity: These plants thrive in a high humidity situation, a decreased humidity will cause brown, crispy leaves.
