This plant is part of our 'Home Grown Propagations & Cuttings' collection, please visit this page for more information.

One pot available. Rooted cuttings. Grown in spaghnum moss in a 5.5cm diameter nursery pot.

Also known as Philodendron ‘Silver Queen’, the Philodendron Hastatum has blue-green leaves which naturally try to climb upwards, because of this it is best supported with a moss pole or plant stake.

The ‘Silver Sword’s leaves become larger and more elongated as they mature and climb higher. This impressive looking plant is easy to propagate from cuttings, which you can then place back in the pot to continue to grow a full and bushy plant.

Care:

Light:  Tolerant of medium light to bright indirect light, however too much light can cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.

Water: This plant likes to be moist but doesn’t want its roots to be constantly wet. Water when the top ⅓ portion of  soil dries out. For best results water from underneath with the use of a saucer to reduce the chance of root rot. Reduce watering during winter months.

Food: Feed fortnightly during the growing season but not during winter.

Humidity: High humidity will produce a happier plant but will tolerate a normal household humidity. A low humidity will cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.
