This plant was on my own personal wishlist and I am so exited to have it in my collection - it looks like it is glowing when it catches the light in the morning sun.
Philodendron Malay Gold is a rare tropical variety of Philodendron originating from Thailand which is known for its bright golden, paddle-shaped leaves which grow to around 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. If you allow it to grow then the Malay Gold will vine and try and grow upwards, at this point you can give it a moss pole or bamboo stick to help it climb higher.
If you are a Philodendron fan you might be interested in our 'Dream Team' bundle which contains Philodendron Scandens 'Brasil', Philodendron Scandens Micans & Philodendron 'Malay Gold' with a 20% discount for buying all three together.
Care:
Light: Tolerant of medium light to bright indirect light, however too much light can cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.
Water: Keep the soil moist at all times, water when the top ⅓ portion of soil dries out. For best results water from underneath with the use of a saucer to reduce the chance of root rot. Reduce watering during winter months.
Food: Feed fortnightly during the growing season but not during winter.
Humidity: High humidity will produce a happier plant but will tolerate a normal household humidity. A low humidity will cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves.
