Due to the nature of this plant, it can have trouble with emergent leaves getting stuck - to help with this we recommend high humidity or regular showers. The most recent leaf grown after import/transit is likely to have some damage because of this - don't worry! Let it get settled in and new leaves should be perfect formed.
The Philodendron 'Pink Princess' is a vibrant plant with speckled pink leaves (as you may expect from its name). New leaves emerge in a deep burgundy colour, then slowly fade to a dark green covered in either flecks or patches of it's eye catching variegation.
Variegation will vary from plant to plant, some plants will have more minimal speckling and others will have larger patches of pink. Please be aware that these plants also have a tendency to get stuck leaves, especially after import when the humidity drops - some leaves may still have evidence of this with left over wrinkles or small flaws.
Care:
Light: Tolerant of medium light to bright indirect light, however too much light can cause bleaching to the leaves.
Water: This plant likes to be moist but doesn’t want its roots to be constantly wet. Water when the top two thirds of the soil dries out. For best results water from underneath with the use of a saucer to reduce the chance of root rot. Reduce watering during winter months.
Food: Feed fortnightly during the growing season but not during winter.
Humidity: High humidity will produce a happier plant but will tolerate a normal household humidity. A low humidity will cause brown, crispy tips or stuck leaves.
