This plant is part of our 'Home Grown Propagations & Cuttings' collection, please visit this page for more information.
One pot available, as photographed. 1 rooted cutting in moss in a 7cm diameter plastic pot, producing lots of new growth.
This vibrant plant has huge leaves decorated in a turtle shell pattern (hence the name), it is a distant relative of the more common 'African Violent' which you have probably seen around your local Garden Centre.
Care:
Light: Bright, indirect light will produce the best growth, however it will tolerate a medium level of light but expect slower growth.
Water: Keep soil moist during the growing season but let the top half/third before watering. During winter months or in lower light conditions water less regularly but do not let it dry out.
Food: During the growing season lightly fertilise twice a month.
Humidity: This plant will grow well in a normal household environment but enjoys a higher humidity.
