Also known as wood hyacinth, or leopard lily - the Ledebouria Socialis is a South African native and while it enjoys a similar hot and humid climate it is also perfectly happy in our homes over here!
It's chunky bulbs which help store extra moisture sit on top of it's soil and produce eye-catching spotted silver leaves.
Although it won't develop much in terms of height, with maturity it will spread out sideways as a type of ground cover.
Light: This plant is happy with a few hours of bright, indirect light a day. They can also be grown in a lower, medium lever light.
Water: Water once at least the top 2/3 of soil has dried out, do not let it sit in water (air on the side of caution with watering, if in doubt - leave it a little longer). Reduce watering drastically in winter months.
Feed: During growing months apply a weak fertiliser once a month.
Humidity: Will tolerate a normal household humidity however for increased growth an increased humidity will be ideal.
