These plants are part of our 'Home Grown Propagations & Cuttings' collection, please visit this page for more information.

Potsize (diameter): 5.5cm. Vine length may vary.

Supplied in a plastic pot.

3 single leaf cuttings rooted in sphagnum moss. One with new growth developing.

The Hoya Sigitalis (wide leaf form) has gorgeous fat leaves covered in splashes of light green variegation.

One of our pet friendly options for those of you with furry friends who like to nibble on your plants!

Other common names for Hoya are: Wax plant, Waxvine, Honey Plant and Porcelain Flower. They are relatively easy to care for and are known to have air-purifying qualities. Their leaves are thick and full like a succulents, they can store a lot of water in them so you are more likely to over water this plant than underwater it. If you treat them right, Hoyas have been know to live for decades!

Hoya are a vining plant, they will happily hang off of a shelf or in a hanging basket but if you give them a trellis or pole they will rapidly climb it. If you look after your Hoya right, it will reward you by sending out cluster of star-shaped flowers which form on the stems.

Due to the long and rigid vines of these plants, some damage can occur to the ends of the plants when we initially import them - which we then trim and neaten up, new growth will emerge from either the top of the plant

or from lower down on the same vine.

Care:

Light: Bright, indirect light will make this plant thrive. They can grow in a lower light, however it will stunt growth and the plant will not flower.

Water: Allow the top half of soil to dry out before watering during growing months. During the winter reduce watering considerably.

Food: During growing months apply a weak fertiliser once a month.

Humidity: Will tolerate a normal household humidity however for increased growth and bigger leaves an increased humidity will be ideal.

Bargain Beauty

I love baby plants and growing from cuttings/seed, so I was delighted with Moose Plant Shop's propagation pots. This particular little stunner is healthy, strongly rooted and already has new growth points - an absolute bargain for the very low price I paid. The propagation pots are ideal for anyone branching out (sorry!) into a different species/variety, or anyone who just wants an easy starter. My whole order came very carefully but beautifully packaged, with no nasty plastic to try and re-use, and they've all settled in nicely. Maria clearly cares about her plants AND her customers, so I'll definitely be ordering again very soon. Highly recommended.
