This plant is covered in a fine white coating (giving it the 'blue' appearance) called Epicuticular wax or farina - some of this may temporarily rub away in transit. Or when sprayed with water.

The Phlebodium 'Davana' shares a lot of the characteristics of regular Blue Star Fern but it grows in more compact and with more textured, frilly ruffles.

As far as ferns go, the Blue Star Fern is known to be easy to care for. All that it asks from you is to be kept moist at all times and to be treated to a regular misting. However, this can be avoided if kept in the bathroom as the steam from your morning shower will keep the humidity levels high enough for your fern to thrive.

One of our pet friendly options for those of you with furry friends who like to nibble on your plants!

Care:

Light: Tolerant of moderate to low light conditions & more tolerant of higher light than most ferns.

Water: Water generously once the soil shows sign of drying out on the top few cm, water until the water comes through drainage holes but do not sit in water.

Feed: Feed rarely during growing season, do not over feed as will burn the plant.

Humidity: High humidity will produce a happier plant but will tolerate a normal household humidity. A low humidity will cause brown, crispy tips on the leaves. Enjoys a regular mist.
